That day when you realize just how broken you are… and when you reason it’s got to be some sort of all encompassing defeatist character flaw the entire world is staring at every time you enter a room, you remember … we’re all broken. But then you think … there has to be some ‘perfect’ person out there. You know all these people in real life and on social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook, and you say to tell yourself they’re all so perfectly happy all the time. But then that little voice in the back of your head reminds you .. most people are smiling in pictures, aren’t they? There is no ‘perfect’. We’ve all suffered loss. We’ve all been broken. And if we’re honest – knowing that about ourselves is nothing but a moment of clarity away from this one. If we’re brave enough to be honest about who we are, to ourselves, then maybe we’ll be one of the lucky ones to make it out of this life time having experienced a transition into understanding… to truly knowing our deepest nature.<\/p>\n
Maybe.<\/p>\n
That thought. That one terrifying thought … that we admit to ourselves who we are, and we stand face to face with that inescapable reality, for the first time in our experience as “me”… ‘you’… “I”…. How much of who I think am, who I identify myself as, am I willing to let go? How much value do I hold for characteristics of myself I’m sure I need to survive in this world, and how much of those characteristics am I sure are killing me from the inside out? <\/p>\n
We’re all broken. Of course, some of us just hide it better than others.<\/p>\n
